Foreign Film recomendations
I need some foreign film recomendations. I'm all over the map (literally and figuratively) when it comes to what I've seen.
some of the older ones I like:
Band of Outsiders (Bande art)
Jules and Jim (Jules et Jim)
Grand Illusion (Grande illusion, La)
Seven Samurai (Shichinin no samurai)
Strada, La
some of the more recent ones I like:
City of God (Cidade de Deus)
Run Lola Run (Lola rennt)
Good bye, Lenin!
Pan's Labyrinth (Laberinto del fauno, El)
and anything by Jean-Pierre Jeunet
I'm willing to watch any language, and prefer subtitles to dubbing whenever possible

My favorite foreign films are Cinema Paradiso (Nuovo cinema Paradiso) and Lives of Others, The (Leben der Anderen, Das) . I highly recommend both if you haven't seen them.

I recommend Open Your Eyes (Abre los ojos) (which was remade as Vanilla Sky, though the original is considered by most to be superior) and Cure, a Japanese horror/thriller that I would classify as existentialist. Both of these are good for when you want one of those movies that keeps making you wonder what is going on.

I'm also a big fan of Jeunet films.

If you liked La Strada you might like Nights of Cabiria and The Bicycle Thief.

If you liked Cidade de Deus you'll probably like Tropa de Elite. Central Station is also good.

Downfall (Der Untergang) is good too.

Among my personal favorites are Jean de Florette, Conte d'automne and Belle de Jour.
